“Three years have now passed since we took over, and we are still very excited about Silverhill School, and we hope that you will be as well after you have browsed through our website.
The school itself is uniquely blessed by the location in which it is situated: ten acres of green belt land set in the village of Winterbourne, just 20 minutes from the heart of Bristol and within easy reach of the M4, M5 AND M32. Silverhill’s Grade II Listed Buildings and grounds give a wonderful sense of tradition and community, which create a positive and pleasant working environment. There is an ethos here of mutual respect and courtesy, which is encouraged among the children and staff. The staff themselves are second to none and are totally committed to the welfare of the children. The strong and supportive parent body makes a significant contribution to the school.
The children thrive in this atmosphere with teachers, who make the learning process enjoyable and stimulating while setting realistic expectations and maintaining high standards. Teachers encourage the children to explore new ideas and broaden their horizons in all areas of their life so that they may grow in self-confidence and become well-rounded individuals with a love for learning.
When you come to look round the school as a prospective parent, which you are warmly invited to do, you will see children who are outgoing and confident. We believe this is the result of the balanced education at Silverhill, and our interest in the needs of the individual child within the context of the group. This enables them to move on to a wide range of secondary schools with confidence in themselves.
Above all, we firmly believe that the education and care of the children must be based on a harmonious relationship between the school and the parents. It is a shared responsibility in which we at Silverhill are privileged to play our part.
We hope that this brief introduction encourages you to look through our website and then pay us a visit. We would love to give you a tour of the whole school and introduce you to our wonderful children who are the best testament to our aims.”
