Mission & Aims
The principal and Head Mistress of Silverhill School and Day Nursery, Julian and Jenifer Capper, firmly believe that the care and education of our pupils must be based on an open and harmonious relationship between school and parent. It is a shared responsibility in which all our staff at Silverhill are privileged to play their part.
We aim to offer the children every opportunity to explore the world and come to understand their place within it through a broad-based curriculum. With inspiring teachers and many ways to enhance their educational experience through Sports, Arts, Music Drama and also Forest Skills, the children are able to develop their potential in a variety of disciplines.
We came to Silverhill School in 2006 as new owners with a challenging agenda. During these years the school has achieved ‘Outstanding’ ratings by OFSTED in the quality and standard of its provision in its Early Years and its Main School. In addition, it has achieved Gold in the Arts Mark Award on its first attempt. The award focuses on Art, Music, Dance and Drama. Twice Silverhill School has been able to secure funding for the pond. This has enabled us to enhance the provision of scientific research and pond dipping for the children.
