The best Christmas present Silverhill received in December 2006 was from FOSS. It was the building of an Adventure Trail (pictured here, with the principals) near the Nursery block.
A new picture will appear here soon of the new Nursery garden, when it is completed. Funds from FOSS's efforts have played a major part in making this possible.
Events
You are welcome to all our social events. Look out for our newsletters in your child's book bag or check out the Silverhill Calendar.
Typical events that we organise are:
- Harvest disco and spring disco
- Christmas bazaar
- Easter egg hunt
- Summer fete
- Refreshments at Sports Days
- Refreshments at the Christmas nativity play
During the last two years, we have raised more than £7,000. The money has provided the following:
- Digital camera and printer (nursery and transition)
- TV and video (years 1 & 2)
- Educational indoor games (reception)
- Outdoor hop-scotch game (reception & year 1)
- Outdoor play things (KS2)
- Memory sticks (years 5 & 6)
- White board (KS1 & KS2)
- Medals for sports’s day (all the school)
- New Adventure Trail

FOSS Shop
The FOSS runs a second-hand uniform shop which can be found in the main building. It is open daily from 08:45 to 09:15. We sell an extensive range of clothes which are in good condition.
We will sell your second-hand clothes for you; you get 75% of the sale price for each item sold. If you wish to hand-in clothes to be sold, please make sure that the clothes are clearly marked with your child's name. If you are leaving the school, please let us have your address so that we can forward any money on to you.
We also sell:

- Silverhill teddies
- Memory sticks
Due to limited space, we no longer sell boys' trousers and boys' shirts.
Kilt Shop
During the Autumn and Spring terms, the girls at Silverhill school can be seen wearing their blue plaid kilts. This item of uniform is only available from the Kilt Shop (next door to the FOSS Shop). John Lewis does not stock the Silverhill kilts.
Please come by and we will help you select a brand new kilt for your daughter, or visit the FOSS shop and purchase a good-quality second-hand kilt.

We would like to encourage parents to put forward any ideas for fund raising or for social events. We welcome your suggestions. May be you have some ideas on other ways we could use the funds. Perhaps you have an area of expertise or a service which you could offer - maybe forming part of an event. Do let us know.
