Lots of brilliant cvc rhyme writing this week too. Forest School will be on Monday 17th October. Please bring suitable clothes for your child/children to change into.
  • Year 1 – We have been busy doing our assessments. We have all worked hard and Mrs Dymock and Mrs Dyer are very proud of us! We had an exciting afternoon on Tuesday when our Science teacher Mrs Buckley brought in her hen. She told us all about birds and we had a very informative, fun filled science lesson.
  • Year 2 – have been learning more about how Florence Nightingale changed Scutari Hospital during the Crimean War and brought cleanliness and light to the dark, dirty hospital. We have also completed some lovely superhero stories included adjectives and some great detail – well done!
  • Year 3 – Well done to all the children who have worked hard on their assessments this week. In PSHE we are exploring how to deal with friendship difficulties. We have been measuring in mms, cms and metres in our Maths lessons. Any extra measuring at home during the weekend will be a great bonus!
  • Year 4 – All the children in year 4 have been working hard on their assessments. In History they’ve all designed some beautiful Egyptian jewellery. Latin is going well, we learnt about the Nominative (subject) and Accusative (object) case for nouns.
  • Year 5 – have been working very hard in Latin. They are putting together some presentations on slavery during the Roman times and relating it to the “Take One Picture”. Mrs Capper hopes the children will have the opportunity to share these with parents soon.
  • Year 6 – Both year 5 & 6 enjoyed using the ITC suite in Maths today. The children used the Woodland Junior School Maths Zone and carried out their times tables tests online. They all did incredibly well.
