Silverhill Christmas Concert
Tuesday 3rd December 2019
Well, our pupils and staff have proved again what a dedicated and talented bunch they are. In this year’s Christmas Concert we enjoyed seeing every child sing with their year group and perform poetry with their class. They have worked so hard and their efforts made everyone so proud!
Silvernotes opened the evening with a new line up. It was lovely to see some new faces. They did a brilliant job and we enjoyed their pieces.
Our Guitars and drummers joined forces to perform a fabulous rendition of ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ – huge thanks to Mr Doogle Hill and Mr Harry Surman for arranging this performance. We thoroughly enjoyed singing along.
We were also joined by Mr John Churchill and Miss Sharon Wilkie who helped with the epic massed KS2 performance of ‘Canon of Peace’. The children excelled themselves here, singing in four parts, with piano, harp and violins. It was a beautiful moment in the concert.
The poems performed by our pupils created some lovely Christmas moments – they did a brilliant job of delivering the words with clarity and expression. Thanks to the form tutors and Mrs Thompson for arranging these.
Choir also treated us to a couple of songs – Somewhere in my Memory was performed beautifully in unison, a few teary eyes were spotted in the audience! After a few sound problems at the rehearsal the day before, I was delighted by how well ‘A Christmas Festival’ went. Choir showed how talented they are – they watched so carefully, following my lead and singing with care and expression, I think it was a highlight of the evening.
Thank you to the audience who joined in for a few carols. I do hope you enjoyed the evening. Your children amaze me every year, proving time and time again that they are capable of incredible things.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas.
