KS2 Christmas Concert 2018
- Tuesday 4th December 2018
- Resound, Mangotsfield
- George Claydon
We had another brilliant Silverhill Christmas KS2 concert at Resound in Mangotsfield this year. It was a wonderful venue, with the children, as always, making us very proud.
We were treated to some wonderful pieces on the harp by Milly Cooke at the start, she set the scene beautifully. We heard from Silvernotes, who, despite only a couple of rehearsals, were brilliant. The Guitars also performed and it was lovely to see how much progress all our instrumentalists are making. Special thanks to Miss Wilkie and Mr Hill for all their hard work.
Year 5 and 6 sang a fun song called ‘Snow Problem’, while years 3 and 4 went for a more traditional ‘I will Rejoice’. Both songs were full of energy and joy and bursting with Christmas cheer.
The Silverhill KS2 choir performed, singing a medley of Polar Express songs, featuring solos from Ella, Maddie and Megan. They were excellent and it was clear to see how much work had gone into the songs. Choir also treated us to ‘Rejoice’, a festive carol celebration by Douglas E. Wagner – a truly beautiful and vibrant piece.
As always, some of our talented Y5 pupils shared some poetry. Mrs Thompson had again worked her magic, and the children gave confident and exciting performances.
I think the highlight of the evening had to be KS2 singing ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ with actions! It was such a fun song, and the children did an admirable job of remembering the different moves!
