Nativity 2019 – “It’s a Party!”

Key Stage One performed their amazing Nativity this Christmas based on a more traditional nativity story. The Nativity was called “It’s a Party”. The children sang all the songs brilliantly, remembering all the words and creating a truly moving scene. What pleased all the staff most was the fact that the children enjoyed performing so much. It has been a pleasure to watch them develop and grow in confidence.

Year Two children played some traditional Christmas songs such as, “We wish you a Merry Christmas” using the Hand Chimes. They did a great job! Year One children sang “Away in a Manager” beautifully and Reception class sang, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. All the children had an opportunity to take part whether they were singing, speaking or acting. Well Done Everyone!

Medieval Christmas –

Years One and Two enjoyed a visit from a representative of The Medieval Barn this term. They learnt about Christmas in Medieval Times. They found out what sort of foods people would have eaten to celebrate Christmas and the type of decorations they would have made. The children were impressed by the Hog Roast that would have been eaten and they were surprised that potatoes were not yet heard of and eaten in this country 650 years ago! Everyone worked together in groups to make Christmas Wreaths and masks which would have been worn to entertain.
