Tag Rugby Tournament

On October 10, 2018

I was privileged to take a squad of ten students to the South Gloucestershire Tag Rugby Tournament, held at Little Stoke Park, on Wednesday 10th October 2018. The tournament included 21 teams from the county.  Silverhill School were placed into a group of five schools, with the top teams progressing through to the quarter finals. Silverhill started the tournament strongly, with a win by 4 tries to 1 against Holy Trinity, a draw 2-2 against The Park and a win 4-2 against St. Anne’s. Going into the final seconds of the final game versus St. Stephen’s (the eventual winners of the tournament), Silverhill were pressurising the opposition line, with the score balanced at 2 tries apiece. Unfortunately, St Stephen’s took the ball the length of the pitch to score the winning try just before the final whistle.

The Silverhill students conducted themselves superbly, despite their disappointment. Their attitude, effort and ability were a credit to the school throughout.
